Overview
The Dreadnought Hotel was originally built in the 17th Century by the Chieftain of the clan, McNab, as a hostelry for his fellow clansmen travelling to the north. The Dreadnought has since remained an important landmark, as well as retaining a distinctive character of its own, from the wood panelled lounge bar to the architecturally listed stained glass windows.
Centrally situated in the popular holiday town of Callander, this 17th Century Hotel successfully combines the attractions of a historical building with modern day comforts, with 61 comfortable en-suite bedrooms. Callander is the gateway to the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, making it the ideal location for a Scottish break.
After a day of discovery, the McNab restaurant serves traditional Scottish fare sourced from the finest local ingredients. Perhaps finish your meal with a wee dram from one of the numerous Scottish whiskies on offer.
